K-Swiss K-Ruuz $85

K-Swiss K-Ruuz $85
The swiftest member of the K-Swiss running family features the same serious focus as the rest of the line.

It also features a few triathlon-inspired touches: laces with link-sausagelike texture to stay tied, drainage through the shank, and perforations at the toe and heel for air flow (which K-Swiss calls its “FlowCool System”). The upper is open mesh with HF-welded midfoot overlays. The midsole is very low profile with a Superfoam crash pad and Strobel board for cushioning. There’s a small medial post for stability, which is especially useful in a racer since fatigue usually results in reduced biomechanical efficiency (you know, your form breaks down as you near the end of a race). Overall, the K-Ruuz is an excellent racer for the speedy, but it’s so lightweight that it’s better suited to shorter races.

  • Sizes: men 8–12,13,14; women 5.5–10,11
  • Weight: 6.0 oz. (men’s 11); 4.6 oz. (women’s 8)
  • Shape: semi-curved Fit: snug heel, close-fitting forefoot
  • For: medium- to high-arched feet with neutral biomechanics to very mild overpronation
  • Range: efficient runners - up to 35K or beyond; heavy strikers - up to 15K

Wyoming Marathon
May

The first thought that came to mind at the 6 a.m. start of this year's Wyoming Marathon Races was "Gorillas in the Mist," except that we were Runners in the Mist. Our huddle of a hundred or so runners was shrouded in dense fog as we tried to make out the dirt road disappearing beyond the start line. While competitors talked and warmed up, the race starter asked for a moment of silence as he said a sort of runner's prayer. The prayer at the race start was a new twist for me, and I immediately liked the vibe surrounding this race. It seemed a fitting tribute to the Memorial Day weekend. The course started on a gently-sloping downhill, a welcome beginning to a long day ahead. Competitors comprised half-marathoners like myself, marathoners, and ultra-marathoners. This was a tough bunch. Lush greenery and gurgling streams cheered us on from the sides of the road, and a certain calm settled over the crowd as we found our respective rhythms under a quiet blanket of morning mist.
Green River Chamber of Commerce Run With the Horses Marathon

Green River Wyoming is located in the south west corner of the state. If you have driven I-80 across the state and passed through twin tunnels, you have passed by a wonderful town! Nestled in between gorgeous rock formations with the Green River running through the heart of the town it is a oasis in the "High Desert Country". The River has been the drawing point for early settlers and has served as a transportation hub for the Overland Trail, Cherokee Trail, Lincoln Highway, Union Pacific Transcontinental Railroad, and now Interstate 80. John Wesley Powell was attracted to the towns proximity to the railroad and river and began his two river expeditions from "Expedition Island". The second trip he discovered the Grand Canyon. Thomas Moran, early western, artist painted several renderings of the cliffs just west of town. Tollgate and the Palisades are sometimes misnamed as the "Cliffs along the Colorado". Browse the website and discover all the great things to see in do in our wonderful community or drop us a e-mail or call, we will be happy to send you more information.
